MARKETPLACE:

Open from 8:30am until 2:00pm in Westralia Square, the marketplace features 14 exhibitors including Western Australian Disability Enterprises, Department of Finance, WA Local Government Association, BuyAbility and National Disability Insurance Agency. Speak with business and operations managers about how social procurement can be best achieved to support your organisations targets and outcomes.

CELEBRATION:

Join us and the Hon Stephen Dawson MLC – Minister for Disability Services in celebrating the outstanding employment achievements for people with disability and acknowledging organisations who have excelled in social procurement. Light refreshments and networking opportunities will conclude the presentation.

PANEL DISCUSSION: RAISING EMPLOYMENT RATES OF PEOPLE LIVING WITH DISABILITY

Join Ian Tsolakis from Crown Perth, Alison Dalziel from We Are Localise, Sarah Jarman from National Disability Services and moderator, Jane Cousins in a panel discussion about the different sector approaches, benefits, strategies and successes of disability employment across Australia. Explore the current three projects, across the three sectors of business, local government and state government – putting practices and resources in place to increase the employment rates of people living with disabilities.

INNOVATION FROM THE TOP: SUPPLIER DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION – IT’S A NO BRAINER

It’s all about commitment and attitude. BGIS and NDS Buyability are leading the movement of “inclusion and diversity” within the workplace. Gain insights from an executive level on the private sector perspective and their ways of strategizing and implementing the engagement of disability enterprises.

MYTH BUSTERS: SOCIAL PROCUREMENT FROM POLICY TO PRACTICE

Policies and frameworks aren’t enough on their own to create real social procurement and business outcomes – collaboration is key to getting some traction! Join Tony Natale, the City Of Cockburn and Lil Paskos, WADE Procurement Manager to hear about the cities journey to increase supplier diversity from their first steps in 2017.

The City created a framework and kicked some procurement goals, but, it didn’t come without its fair share of misconceptions and challenges. This interactive session is your chance to find out  just how easy it is to unpack the challenges and opportunities that exist. 

LOOP UPCYCLING: THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Embark on a creative journey with Perth based social entrepreneur Dwayne Rowland. He’s come up with creative ways to re-use or “upcycle” corporate wear and remove an environmental challenge for big business, whilst at the same time, creating life changing jobs for some of the most disadvantaged members of our community.

GOODWILL ENGINEERING AND ABILITY CONTAINERS FOR CHANGE
1:20PM – 1:50PM 

Launching 2 June, this WA State backed recycling scheme is expected to create more the 500 jobs in WA. Ability Containers for Change is an approved manufacturer and supplier of the scheme infrastructure and labour, and will operate recycling sites across Perth as well as the provision of equipment through Goodwill Engineering. Find out how your organisation can benefit from partnering with Ability Containers for Change to create a profitable, sustainable recycling program in your workplace, and support employment opportunities for West Australians living with disability.

All enterprises have positive and negative effects on people and the planet. Whether large multinational, small business or not for profit, we can all manage our impact and outcomes.  Increasingly, impact measurement and management is no longer a ‘nice to have’, but demanded by investors, conscious consumers, government funders and foundations. Impact Seed will present an overview to approaches for understanding, planning and measuring an enterprises impact by exploring concepts, methodologies and case studies.
